About Us Kylie "Thin Crust" Springman and Adriana "Deep Dish" Willsie 




High School 21985-2003 Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Adriana and Kylie were made for the rain. The two met in seventh grade at a "choice" (read: super-nerdy) junior high school and decided they had to be chums. While Adriana softened her hair with coconut oil, Kylie wore bindis to school and painted her clothes vibrant colors. Together, they studied a lot but found time to traipse around the suburbs picking blackberries and crafting them into pies, sometimes successfully and sometimes not-so-successfully.


In College2003-2007 When they turned 18, both went off to college in the Northeast. They took turns visiting each other in the city and the country and even spent Thanksgivings together when their parents refused to let them come home.








Fearful Adriana2007-2008 Then they graduated from college and got plopped into the real world. They were shocked; they were unprepared. No one had ever told them what life would be like after college! They fumbled around in the dark for a few years, trying to figure out who they were and where they should be.






Bundled Up2008 Finally, Adriana settled down in Chicago with a job at a nonprofit and a boyfriend to boot. Kylie made her way back to NYC to shack up with her girlfriend and try to get paid to write. Torn apart by geography, the two decided to start a joint project. It would be a blog about food and life, and it would be called Thin Crust, Deep Dish.






Adriana and Kylie at the Stove2009 These days, Adriana still does the nonprofit thing from 9 to 5, but she's also a student in culinary school. That's right, folks! This here site's got a certified professional in the making. Both Adriana and Kylie are trying to make sense of life and make the world a better place, and they document all that here on Thin Crust, Deep Dish.
